Donor’s Prayer
Who We Are
The special papal audience took place in March of 1959.
On the throne of St. Peter was His Holiness Pope John XXIII, who received with good humor and affection among five thousand AVIS donors that "invaded," with flying colors, the square and the basilica.
To the audience of the Holy Father and to the president of AVIS National (and its founder) Vittorio Formentano, the pope donated a prayer, known as the "Donor’s Prayer.”
